Dr. Anil Sigdel is author of the book India in the Era of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (October 2020), Rowman and Littlefield’s Lexington imprint, Washington DC. His views and commentaries have appeared in major US and international outlets including The National Interest and Real Clear Defense in Washington, South China Morning Post-Hong Kong, East Asia Forum-Australian National University, Observer Research Foundation-New Delhi, People’s Daily- Beijing, The Kathmandu Post- Nepal and several other academic outlets. As a Founding Director of a think tank in Washington, Nepal Matters for America, established with an understanding with Congressional Nepal Caucus at the Capitol Hill, and as an Asia expert, Dr. Sigdel has collaborated and interacted with scholars from several major institutions in the US such as National Defense University, Harvard University, East West Center, Hudson Institute, Wilson Center, National Committee on US-China Relations, Brookings, and many more. He holds a PhD in international relations from the Institute of Political Science, University of Vienna, Austria. He holds a Master degree in International Studies from the Diplomatic School of Madrid where he was merit scholar under the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation and Development, Ministry of External Affairs, Spain. Dr. Sigdel is a fluent bilingual – Spanish-English, and has intermediate level of Mandarin Chinese.
